Jack Torrance’s new job as the winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start, but as the harsh Colorado winter sets in and the hotel's dark, sinister history wakes up, the idyllic retreat becomes a terrifying, inescapable trap. His young son Danny, who possesses psychic abilities called "the shining," is the only one to notice the evil forces driving his father toward violence.
Reviews & Ratings
Many people think that the shining is about ghosts and horror. For me it really felt like the characters minds playing tricks on them and only twice or thrice were there events that can only be ascribed to the supernatural but I feel like they were there to progress the plot and build the atmosphere. The real horror is psychological and what is going on in jacks brain.
